Portland Fire & Rescue firefighters and NW Natural Gas field technicians were summoned to a “skinny house” at 4002 S.E. Crystal Springs Boulevard on Wednesday morning, March 18th, at 10:47 a.m. It had been reported as a “Major Gas Leak” incident.
Westmoreland’s Fire Station 20’s Engine Company arrived, ready to provide “potential fire suppression” should the escaping natural gas ignite in front of the house, which had been built in 2005.
The entire block was cordoned off as a precaution. “It’s at, or near, a natural gas main; that’s why we’re asking people to stay way back, near our engine,” cautioned a firefighter…
