PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A Portland man has been arrested after he led police on a chase and crashed his vehicle on Interstate 205 late Thursday night.
Casey Padula, 30, was booked into Multnomah County Jail early Friday morning on charges of third-degree assault, fleeing or attempting to elude police, criminal driving while his driving privileges were suspended or revoked, failure to perform the duties of a driver, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and recklessly endangering highway workers.
The incident started around 9:30 p.m. Thursday when Pedula nearly hit a sheriff’s deputy vehicle with his BMW SUV near the intersection of Southeast Grand Avenue and Southeast Harrison Street in Portland, officials said.
Officers attempted to pull Pedula over, but he refused. A pursuit began and officers from the Portland Police Bureau and TriMet Transit Police also responded. Despite multiple attempts to stop Pedula, he continued driving…
