Lewisville Regional Park in Battle Ground is closed indefinitely after an overnight fire early Tuesday tore through the park’s Grand Shelter, pulling firefighters into the area in the middle of the night and shutting down one of Clark County’s most popular river spots.
Crews knocked down the flames and there were no reported injuries, but county staff closed public access to the park while emergency responders and investigators worked the scene. The shutdown has thrown off picnic plans and cut off access to the East Fork Lewis River for visitors who rely on the park’s riverfront.
Clark County Public Works reported on the park’s webpage that the blaze was called in early Tuesday and that “the park is CLOSED to the public until further notice.” County staff are reaching out to people with picnic-shelter reservations to offer refunds or move their bookings to other county sites…
