PORTLAND, Ore. — Teachers in Portland Public Schools (PPS) are a step closer to receiving a pay increase for the 2026-27 school year after the district and the teachers’ union reached a tentative contract agreement Tuesday night. The deal would give teachers a 2% cost-of-living raise beginning in January.
“We’re still waiting for our members to ratify. We notified our members of the tentative agreement last night,” said Angela Bonilla, president of the Portland Association of Teachers.
