Travis Drake, former Prairie High School principal and current Director of Secondary at Battle Ground School District (BGSD), will become the new principal of Camas High School (CHS) starting the 2026-27 school year.
Drake has been an administrator for about 18 years and he has previously worked as a principal at several middle schools and high schools in the BGSD. He was also a graduate from Battle Ground High School (BGHS) and played basketball for the BGHS team.
Drake has served as the current Director of Secondary at BGSD for the past four years. While on the path towards becoming a superintendent, Drake realized he missed working with students and being part of a school system. He wanted to return to that environment.
“I want to work with students again because I enjoy the energy of being at a school,” Drake said. “When Camas opened up … I threw my name in the hat to see if this was a place that would be a good fit for me, and it worked out.”…
