VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A nationally known civil rights attorney announced he has filed a wrongful death lawsuit in the 2024 case of Rolin Hill.
Attorney Ben Crump, who has represented the families of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Trayvon Martin and others, posted on X on Thursday that Hill needed “compassion, care, and support—not violence and restraint tactics.”
Two years ago to the date, 34-year-old Rolin Hill died in the custody of the Virginia Beach Sheriff’s Office during a “medical emergency.” The Norfolk Medical Examiner later ruled Hill’s death a homicide by “positional and mechanical asphyxia due to restraint with neck and torso compression.” Five deputies involved were let go, while three of them face second-degree murder charges…
