VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is hosting multiple events during its Free Fishing Days weekend, including one in Hampton Roads. Staff will be on hand with rods, reels, tackle and bait.
If you’re interested in attending one of the events, here are all the details.
- (Virginia Beach): June 6, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
- Dorey Park (Henrico County): June 6, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Carvins Cove Reservoir (Roanoke): June 6, from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.
- Williams Wharf Landing (Mathews County): June 7, from 9 a.m.- 12 p.m.
These events are free; no registration is required.
During Free Fishing Days, no fishing license will be required for recreational rod and reel fishing in fresh and salt water. DWR access permits will not be required during these dates. The DWR has removed the restriction on fishing designated stocked trout waters for the event. This opens up over 2,900 miles of trout streams, ponds and lakes for the weekend…
