VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Concerns about heat and humidity inside The Dome are being addressed by Virginia Beach city leaders. It comes after 10 On Your Side got reports from viewers about such conditions during shows. This includes one man who said he passed out from heat exhaustion at the Sunday night Modest Mouse concert.
Members of the Virginia Beach Development Authority voted in favor of installing an “air curtain.” It is what you typically see at the entryway of grocery stores to keep hot air from getting inside. They would put this at the doorway between the lawn and indoor areas of The Dome venue. Putting it in would pull more than $600,000 from the Atlantic Park account.
