Man wanted in reported 2024 Asheville homicide arrested in Virginia; next court date set

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A suspect who was wanted by Asheville police for a homicide that reportedly happened in 2024 was captured last month by police and United States Marshals in Virginia.

According to a social media post by the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office, Iken Michtreal Wallace, 36, was apprehended on May 20. The Asheville Police Department reported that Wallace was wanted for a charge of first-degree murder in the homicide of 32-year-old Denzel McKnight.
