CURRITUCK, N.C. (WAVY) — A firefighter was treated for minor injuries after fighting a blaze in the 200 block of Whitehurst Road on June 19.
Crews from Currituck, Virginia Beach, Va., and Chesapeake, Va., responded to reports of a single-family residential fire at approximately 9:13 a.m. When they arrived at the destination, they discovered a two-story barn on fire, “fully involved and initiated fire attack in the defensive mode,” according to the Virginia Beach Fire Department.
The firefighters were able to control the fire by 9:50 a.m. and put it out at approximately 11:13 a.m.
No civilians or pets were injured. One firefighter received treatment for injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation…
