Traffic shift planned for Deep Creek Bridge July 2-3

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Drivers will experience a traffic shift and reduced speed limit July 2-3 in the westbound lane of the Deep Creek Bridge, according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Crews will shift the westbound traffic onto the new bridge span during overnight operations beginning July 2. It is scheduled to be completed by July 3. After the shift is completed, eastbound and westbound traffic will use the new bridge span on U.S. Route 17 while demolition crews take down the old bridge and replace it with the new three-lane span.
