NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Drivers in Norfolk enjoyed the construction pause in the NEON District Streetscape Project while it lasted, but it has since resumed.
Construction is underway on the west side of Granby Street after a brief pause for Juneteenth, Harborfest and Sail 250. Crews are currently installing new water and sewer lines on Granby Street between Brambleton Avenue and Starke Street.
July 2025: Work to revitalize NEON District in Norfolk officially underway again
During this phase of the NEON District Streetscape Project, traffic on Granby Street is restricted to one-way northbound travel between Brambleton Avenue and Olney Road. These infrastructure upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to improve the area.
Southbound traffic traveling on Granby Street should follow the designated detour at Olney Road. Currently, Starke Street is not accessible to vehicular traffic when approaching from Granby Street. Drivers should be aware of these changes and new traffic patterns in the work zones…
