VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — A portion of Town Center in Virginia Beach transformed into a miniature metropolis Saturday morning as local architects and community members gathered for the inaugural Pop-Up City event, a first of its kind, hands-on exhibition.
It’s designed to introduce children to the world of design and inspire them to build using free or low-cost materials.
The single-day educational event featured cardboard creations from six architectural firms based in the Hampton Roads region. Participants spent six hours constructing the temporary city, which drew crowds of children and adults.
