VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Naval Air Station Oceana in Virginia Beach will conduct a large-scale emergency response exercise Tuesday, according to a post from the base on Facebook.
The base will conduct the regularly scheduled exercise on July 14. The exercise is intended to prepare the installation and community partners to respond to mishaps and security incidents. It’s also not in response to any specific threat.
People who are on or near the installation may see simulated smoke, hear sirens or view emergency vehicles near the base…
