Man pleads guilty to reckless driving on Atlantic Ave in VB

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Without a plea agreement in place, Kyle Matthews pleaded guilty to charges of reckless driving following an incident near the Virginia Beach oceanfront.

On May 10, officers were notified of a vehicle performing burn-outs in front of Arbuckle’s Bar & Grill, which is located on Atlantic Avenue. Video surveillance provided by Virginia Beach Police shows the suspect vehicle doing donuts and leaving a significant amount of tire marks on the ground in front of the restaurant.

Matthews was later arrested during a traffic stop.

After pleading guilty on September 3, Matthews was sentenced to 365 days in jail. That sentence was suspended conditioned upon 12 months of good behavior, completion of ASAP program, no drugs, alcohol or marijuana, license suspended for 6 months…
