Person seriously injured after commercial structure fire on Shell Road in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. (WAVY) — A person was seriously injured after a commercial structure fire on Shell Road in Hampton Friday evening, according to the Hampton Division of Fire & Rescue.

At around 6:04 p.m. on Sept. 4, Hampton Public Safety Communications received a call for mutiple vehicles on fire in the 600 block of Shell Road at an auto repair facility. As the dispatcher received more information, the call was upgraded to a commercial structure fire, and a second alarm was called at 6:08 p.m.

Hampton Fire units were dispatched and arrived to the scene at around 6:10 p.m. While on the way, the division’s Engine 9 saw heavy smoke near Aberdeen Road.

Crews started an aggressive fire attack and search of the building. The fire was knocked down at around 6:32 p.m. And it was then marked out at around 6:46 p.m…
