CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — Chesapeake Fire responded to an apartment fire that displaced one person at The Amber at Greenbrier Apartments Sunday afternoon, according to the Chesapeake Fire Department.
At 12:54 p.m. on Sept. 6, Chesapeake Emergency Communications received a 911 call about smoke and flames coming from an apartment. Firefighters arrived on the scene at 12:59 p.m., and they found a fire in one of the apartments.
Multiple hoselines were stretched to the apartment, the fire was quickly extinguished, and crews were able to stop it from spreading to nearby apartments. The fire was declared under control at 1:08 p.m.
The occupant was able to evacuate the apartment safely before firefighters arrived, but she will be unable to stay in her home…
