Making ‘her-story’: Super Girl Surf Festival brings positive message to Oceanfront

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Tens of thousands of people turned out to the Oceanfront for the three-day Super Girl Surf Festival over the Labor Day holiday weekend.

“Epic — that’s my first impression,” said Kris Gordon, spokesperson for RollnVibez. “But after that, we are literally making history, but I’ll change it to her-story, right, because it’s for all women.”

Many businesses have been set up at the Oceanfront, along with lots of live music, with Monday night’s headliners, Bryce Vine, taking the stage along with Switchfoot.

While the festival has been held in California for 20 years, this year is the first for Virginia Beach.
