PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — The Portsmouth Department of Social Services’ (DSS) food pantry in Portsmouth is feeling the pressure of rising prices, as its pantry is empty and almost completely out of food.
With a rise in stolen SNAP benefits and an increase in unhoused people looking for help, the food they get is flying off the shelves faster than they can restock it.
