NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A judge’s ruling Friday brought to an end the criminal case surrounding the shooting death of Jahari George, 20, with no criminal convictions.

George was shot dead Sept. 2, 2023 as he sat in a car on Gatehouse Road with three friends. Police arrested Camari Warren and Cameron Brown, both 18, and charged them with murder.
Warren was acquitted in July 2025 of all charges. Last October, Brown was acquitted on murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of murder. However, the jury deadlocked on a charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle.

The Commonwealth was set to retry Brown on the shooting charge later this month. His defense attorney, Eric Korslund, was in court Friday to try to get the remaining charge dismissed.
“They already had their one bite at the apple,” Korslund told WAVY. “This isn’t a Lacey Clancy situation where it was a hung jury on all the charges. We argued, who was the shooter? They had a trial, and the jury came back and said not Cameron Brown. They found him not guilty of murder, not guilty of using a firearm.”…
