NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk Police are responding to intersections after power outages affected traffic signals in the city Saturday evening, according to the Norfolk Police Department.
As of 6:17 on Oct. 3, officers are assessing reported locations and directing traffic. The department advises drivers to be cautious and treat any intersection with a non-functioning traffic signal as a four-way stop unless directed otherwise by an officer.

The department’s response comes as thousands are without power across Hampton Roads due to salt buildup from when the nor’easter storm impacted the region last week.
