Man found guilty in fatal 2025 shooting near Port Norfolk Supermarket

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — A man was found guilty Wednesday in connection with the September 2025 shooting death of another man near the Port Norfolk Supermarket, according to the Portsmouth Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office.

Prosecutors said Reginald Aaron Suggs approached Orlando Maurice Watts and another man shortly after noon on Sept. 9, 2025, as they walked away from the Port Norfolk Supermarket near Wesley Street and Mt. Vernon Avenue. Suggs allegedly demanded money, pull out a gun and fired multiple shots.

Watts was struck and later died at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Police said a nearby apartment and was also hit by gunfire…
