Local vendors make the best of it as Hurricane Isaias threat forces Hampton Roads events to close early

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Hurricane Isaias is still many miles from Hampton Roads, but it is already affecting local events. Another weekend of festivals has been canceled, rescheduled, or cut short because of the approaching weather.

Organizers, vendors, and festival-goers said they aren’t letting the rain dampen the fun.

Crowds filled the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for the 70-year tradition, but this year’s show looks different. Organizers closed early Saturday and called off Sunday.
