Navy training item washed up on shore in Ocean View

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — Norfolk police say a Navy training item washed up on the shore in Ocean View Monday morning.

Just after 8:30 a.m., police were called to the 1000 block of West Ocean View Avenue for the report of a suspicious item that had washed up on the shore.

Officers were able to determine that the item belonged to the U.S. Navy. Members of the bomb squad and Harbor Patrol Units waited at the scene until the Navy retrieved the item.
