USNS Brunswick returning to Virginia Beach this weekend

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The USNS Brunswick is returning to Virginia Beach on Saturday, Feb. 3.

The Military Sealift Command’s fast transport vessel traveled over 21,000 miles. USNS Brunswick completed a seven-year forward deployment that began in 2017 in support of military logistics operations in U.S. Third Fleet, a release states.

The EPF, for three months in 2023, supported I MEF during its Marine Rotational Force – Southeast Asia deployment.

While in U.S. Fifth Fleet, USNS Brunswick assisted in a humanitarian mission. As a result, there were more than 830 evacuees from 18 nations, including 168 U.S. citizens, from the Port of Sudan to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This came from efforts to help U.S. citizens and others during a civil war in Sudan.
