Norfolk police investigating fatal pedestrian crash on E. Virginia Beach Blvd.

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The Norfolk Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian crash early Tuesday morning.

Police said on Feb. 6 at approximately 3:55 a.m., they received a call about a crash involving a pedestrian in the 3400 block of E. Virginia Beach Boulevard between Scott Street and Ballentine Boulevard.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police.

All lanes were closed as police investigated the area. All lanes have since reopened.

WAVY’s Brett Hall was at the scene where police told him that the incident occurred on the bridge over the railroad tracks in Norfolk’s Ingleside area and involved a box truck.

Norfolk police say that the shopping cart seen in the photo above was involved in the crash.
