The Hampton Police Division is investigating a violent incident that occurred on February 6, 2024, at the 1st block of S. Armistead Avenue. A 33-year-old woman was found in her car with a gunshot wound. She was quickly taken to a local hospital by the Hampton Division of Fire and Rescue and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Initial investigations suggest that the woman was driving south on S. Armistead Avenue when she noticed a car following her. After turning at the intersection of S. Armistead Avenue and W. Queen Street, the suspect shot at her car and fled the scene.
Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the incident, which seems to be linked to a previous dispute. The police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the shooter.
