PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Two adult, two kids and two animals displaced after fire in Portsmouth, officials said.
Portsmouth Fire, Rescue and Emergency Services responded to the report of a multi-family structure fire in the 3300 block of Clover Hill Drive in Churchland.
Shortly after 6 p.m., crews found that a neighbor had helped control and mainly extinguish the fire.
Crews continued to search to ensure there were no occupants or additional fire extension into the home. The fire was marked under control and out around 6:30 p.m.
Fire damage did occur at the rear of the structure and impacted only an adjacent neighboring storage unit where the limited smoke from the fire was ventilated. The residents weren’t home and a dog and cat were retrieved safely.
Two adults and two children, are relocating with family and friends. No injuries were reported during this incident and the incident is being investigated by the Portsmouth Fire Marshal’s Office.
