CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) – The school year might be over for some, but the Chesapeake Police Department is warning motorists about active school zone speed cameras for Summer School.
Chesapeake Public Schools updates calendar with another day off
Chesapeake Public School’s Summer School will operate from June 24 through July 25, Monday through Thursday.
Locations and times for the speed cameras can be found below:
- Great Bridge Intermediate : 300 Hanbury Road West – 7:05-7:50 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
- South Western : Airline Boulevard – 7:05-7:50 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. – 12:05 p.m.
- Deep Creek High : George Washington Highway – 8:15-9 a.m. and 12:30-1:15 p.m.
- Oscar Smith High : 400 block Great Bridge Boulevard – 8:15-9 a.m. and 12:30-1:15 p.m.
Recently, speed cameras in Chesapeake have led to a federal lawsuit , with Attorney Tim Anderson claiming that receiving a ticket through the camera doesn’t follow the same process as an officer.
