City of Virginia Beach sues insulin makers over pricing

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The City of Virginia Beach says it is suing insulin makers for insulin pricing. In a statement to 13News Now, a city spokesperson said it provides “critical” health services for over 450,000 residents and maintains a self-insured health plan. The spokesperson said it cost the City over $9 million to provide diabetes medications to its more than 5,900 health plan subscribers and their dependents between 2018 and 2022.
