Man arrested after hit-and-run involving pedestrian in Virginia Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – A man was arrested following an auto-pedestrian crash in Virginia Beach Saturday evening.

According to officials, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Virginia Beach Boulevard and Witchduck Road around 6:12 p.m. for the report of an accident involving a pedestrian.

Officers arrived to the scene and found a pedestrian with non life-threatening injuries. The pedestrian was transferred to a local hospital and was issued a summons for pedestrian in the roadway, police said.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 23-year-old Quade Cooper of Virginia Beach, did not stay at the scene and was later arrested.

Cooper is charged with felony hit and run in connection with the incident.
