USPS postal workers are under siege: Congress looking to beef up protections

We just reported news on Thursday about a July 11 robbery of a postal worker in Virginia Beach. It’s apparently a growing trend, and Congress is taking notice. “I have been troubled by reports of violent assaults and armed thefts against our nation’s letter carriers, especially given an increase in attacks committed against these public servants in Virginia,” said Abigail Spanberger, D-Va., who represents the Seventh District in the U.S. House.
