Two environment-related festivals coming to Norfolk Botanical Garden

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Norfolk Botanical Garden and the Beekeepers Guild of Southeast Virginia are hosting two festivals in the upcoming months.

The Virginia Honey Bee Festival is scheduled for Saturday. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can learn about the critical role of bees and how to protect them by not using harmful pesticides.

There are children activities, demonstrations, honey products and samples, pottery, jewelry, food trucks and more. Attendees can also purchase bee-friendly plants. Children who dress as a bee will receive free honey stick.

The Mushroom Festival is on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event features hands-on activities for kids.

Festivals are included in the price of Garden Admission.
