20YO sentenced in Norfolk for shooting into vehicle on behalf of his girlfriend

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A 20-year-old was sentenced in Norfolk Circuit Court to three-and-a-half years in prison after reportedly shooting into a vehicle after his girlfriend got in a fight with one of its occupants, a release states.

Deandre Lee was sentenced on Friday following his guilty plea to four felony charges after Lee shot at a group of people inside a car as they drove away from him.

On Nov 12, Lee and his girlfriend were attending a party where Lee’s girlfriend got into an argument with another woman. The woman and four other people got into a car and started to drive away. Witnesses heard Lee’s girlfriend tell Lee to shoot at the car. Lee then fired eight shots at the car.

The bullets he fired entered the rear window and trunk of the car, and one bullet struck one of the other women in the group in her side and back. The driver of the car drove to the hospital, where doctors treated the wounded woman.

Norfolk Police officers found Lee at a nearby fast-food restaurant several hours later and arrested him. A search warrant at his home recovered the gun, as well as the clothes he was wearing when he committed the shooting.
