Norfolk police respond to shooting on Hanson Avenue

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A shooting investigation is underway in Norfolk.

Just after 4 p.m. Friday, police responded to the 2300 block of Hanson Avenue for the report of a gunshot victim.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man was taken to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries and is expected to survive.

Detectives say the shooting happened on the 1100 block of St. Julian Street.
