ODU Police charge man who allegedly had gun on campus

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — ODU Police say 19-year-old Quashon Morgan faces criminal charges related to a Sept. 10 incident in which he allegedly possessed a handgun in the Webb University Center.

In a message to the campus community, ODU Police Chief Garrett Shelton said its police department identified Morgan as the man with the handgun on campus and that it has obtained charges against him in connection to the incident.

Virginia law prohibits anyone from “carrying, maintaining, or storing a firearm or weapon on any university property,” even with a valid permit.

Investigators seek information on where Morgan is, and ODU Police say it can be reported anonymously to them at 757-683-4000 or through the LiveSafe app, or by dialing 911 from campus phones.
