Virginia Zoo hosts sensory friendly morning for those with autism and sensitivities

NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The Virginia Zoo will host its first sensory friendly morning on Sunday, Nov. 3 in partnership with the Autism Society Tidewater Virginia and Complete the Puzzle .

According the zoo’s website , sensory free mornings will allow guest of all abilities and needs to experience the zoo in a less overwhelming environment.

During sensory free events, programs will be adapted to provide stress-free activities for a reduced number of visitors.

Timed tickets will be required for entry to the Zoo for this special event. The Zoo says that ticket link will be available here, soon.

A limited number of KultureCity Sensory bags will be available for check-out in the membership office.
