NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – The City of Norfolk is set to host a waste collection event to help residents dispose of hazardous waste.
On Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to noon at Azalea Baptist Church, Norfolk residents will be able to drop-off hazardous waste as part of Keep Norfolk Beautiful’s Special Waste Collection Event.
During the event, people will be able to properly dispose of plastics, electronics/e-waste and household hazardous waste, such as paint, batteries, pesticides, cooking and automotive oils and propane tanks at absolutely no cost with proof of residency.
In addition to the drop-off, residents will also be able to bring personal documents for secure, on-site shredding. Friends of Norfolk’s Environment will also be giving out free trees while supplies last with proof of residency.
