Norfolk’s Colonial Place neighborhood puts last minute touches on Halloween scenes

Neighbors in Colonial Place, a Norfolk neighborhood popular for trick-or-treating, spend days prepping for Halloween festivities with everything from jump-scare inducing animatronics to homemade ghosts and sound effects.

Just before the spookiest night of the year, people spent the evening putting finishing touches on their decorations and carved fresh pumpkins to set aglow on the front porch to create the path for the candy-crazed.

For most cities, trick-or-treating begins at dusk, or about 6 p.m., and ends around 8 p.m.
