Virginia Beach’s Atlantic Avenue to close for rooftop repair work

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — Atlantic Avenue will be closed on Monday between 34th and 35th streets as rooftop repair work will be conducted on an Oceanfront business.

The repair work is scheduled between approximately 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., which will include assembly and disassembly of a crane.

The road closure could be extended until early Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 5 if delays are encountered for issues such as inclement weather or an equipment malfunction.

Motorists will be advised of the road closure with warning signage. It is urged to use alternative routes as there is a possibility of tragic congestion and construction noise at Atlantic Avenue during the work period.

The east sidewalk of Atlantic Avenue between 34th and 35th streets will also be closed, while the west sidewalk will remain open for pedestrians.
