Virginia has many ghost tales
Appalachia is filled with legend, folklore, and tales of the paranormal. WAVY News has an article about how some among us are fascinated by the macabre and drawn to ghost stories. For some Virginians, ghost stories are drawn to them without being invited.
Helena C. from Botetourt County shared that she has seen things floating and had night terrors and sleep paralysis, where she perceived something evil hovering over her since age nine.
Andrea D. from Chesapeake says she has seen the spirits of deceased loved ones soon after they passed away since she was a teen.
Unexplained encounters
Mike L. from Roanoke saw a ghostly figure in white walking toward his vehicle in the early 2000s while heading back to Radford University. He says it disappeared after he prayed.
Ashley S from Salem says spirits have visited her and given her warnings since childhood.
All four Virginians said they did not hold seances, use Ouija Boards, or do anything to invite these encounters. So, while some are drawn to the paranormal, others claim, the supernatural is drawn to them.
