Virginia woman worked as a nurse without a lisence

Fox News reports Amanda Porter, 44, was arrested on November 7 for impersonating two nurses in California. She was charged with identity theft, false impersonation, and grand theft,

Porter admitted that in 2015, she stole the identity of a registered nurse in New York. She used the falsified credentials to obtain a supervisor position at a nursing home near Norfolk, Virginia.

Porter got a high from stealing

NBC News reveals Porter was fired from that position in March 2016 but had already used the nurse’s name, date of birth, and Social Security number to open bank accounts and obtain loans totaling more than $100,000.

She used the money to purchase a Mercedes Benz, diamond bracelets, a Ford Mustang for her son, and other items. According to court documents in the Virginia case: “she steals money because it gives her a high like a drug.

Porter was on probation in Virginia at the time of her arrest in California. It came to light that she had been using many stolen identities. Court documents also revealed “she wants to give it back after stealing it, but spends it instead.”
