NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — After a flurry of community support, Veda Fulford’s Norfolk home is on the mend, and she’s getting the help she needs.

10 On Your Side has been highlighting Fulford’s story, from the time a pipe burst in her 105-year-old home, to having her home restored and made livable again.
Hardships follow Norfolk family in need of immediate help
“I would definitely say that everybody that came together, it was due to WAVY10 news,” said Fulford, a 38-year-old mother of three. “They have been a blessing, an angel to me and my family and we will be back together soon after all this is over with.”
10 On Your Side’s Regina Mobley first brought you the story Monday. After a pipe burst in Veda Fulford’s house, she had her home red tagged by the city of Norfolk — meaning no running water or heat in her home.
The issues she had been having with her home have been exacerbated by her health issues, as Fulford is a double-amputee and developed sepsis following spinal cord surgery in October. Her husband, Rico Fulford, has been recovering from a car accident, and her children have been staying with family members.
