VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) – The Samaritan House is getting ready for their seventh annual “Home for the Holidays” family adoption program in the hopes of bringing holiday cheer to families affected by violence.
The program helps families throughout Hampton Roads by providing holiday gifts, clothing, food and household items to families impacted by violence.
“Home for the Holidays has become one of our most important outreach programs,” Executive Director for Samaritan House Robin Gauthier said. “The families and individuals we serve each year are always thrilled to benefit from the program which provides them with the basics for a happy holiday season.”
There are several ways to help the Samaritan House spread holiday cheer this season, including adopting a home, adopting a family or by sponsoring a service.
“This year we adopted 65 families, and it’s thanks to our sponsors and generous donors and that we are able to provide them with everything they need from household goods to Christmas trees,” Samaritan House community volunteer manager Evelis Faison said.
