A Norfolk man has been arrested for receiving money and not doing a job.

A man from Norfork has been arrested for receiving money to do a job, never doing the job, and not having the license to do the construction work. 25-year-old Joseph Walker Langston Jr was arrested on December 10th, 2024. According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office Langston was hired in May to replace the siding and windows on a house in Clarkridge. Langston asked the victim to pay $10,379 upfront for materials so his company Construction Worx LLC of Norfork. Labor was set at $9,121. A check was written for the materials. Langston then claimed he had somebody to do the tear-out portion of the work for an additional $1,800. Another check was written. Langston faces a felony charge of theft of property and misdemeanor failure to perform construction work without a license. He was booked for a failure to appear to charge out of Izard County. Langston is out of jail after posting a $25,665 bond.
