VIRGINIA BEACH. Va. (WAVY) – During the holiday season, people hope their mail and packages get delivered on time. In the Campus East community, residents on Tuition Court and Pencil Box Way question when their mail will ever get delivered again.
Their cluster mailbox was struck by a car last December, and it has yet to be replaced.
“It’s a pain in the butt,” said Charlotte Keeley.
She, like her neighbors, have to pick up their mail directly at the Witchduck Post Office near Town Center, which is more than three miles away. While it’s an inconvenience for all residents, it’s extremely troubling for Keeley as she doesn’t drive. She uses Uber once a month to get to the post office.
“If you know you’ve got something coming you have to spend money and go to the post office,” she said.
“I’m in the military so by the time I get off of work the Post Office is closed, so the only time I’m really able to get my mail is Saturday mornings,” Milton Gregg said.
Another neighbor, Tony Petty, expressed displeasure about going to the Post Office during the holiday season.
