NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — When a pipe burst on a frigid night earlier this month, a Norfolk mother reached out to 10 On Your Side for help.

Since water poured into their Park Place home, love and support has flowed from across the region, and now, a Suffolk church has responded to the family in need.
The Mount Suffolk church, and its pastor, Karl Wilkins, answered the family’s call for help.
“Looking at the story Friday, and looking at the kids and listening to Donte — ‘even if we don’t have presents, we can sit and watch TV together,’ he said in a previous interview — I knew that there was something extraordinarily different about this family,” Wilkins said.
The people of The Mount Suffolk opened their hearts to a family that was forced from their home during the early morning hours of Dec. 1 after the pipes in a 100-plus-year-old home burst. They made sure the members of this family would have gifts to open for Christmas.
