Brush fire in Chesapeake started by downed power line

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – The Chesapeake Fire Department spent Sunday afternoon fighting a brush fire caused by a downed power line. The first call came in at 2:41 p.m. from the 2800 block of Flag Road, according to Robert Warren of the fire department. The caller said rapidly spreading flames in a field were moving dangerously close to a structure.
