CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Police Department (CPD) is investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in a motorcyclist having serious injuries.
On Sunday afternoon, officers responded to the intersection of South Battlefield Boulevard and Johnstown Road in reference to a vehicle crash at around 2:20 p.m.
An initial investigation determined a motorcyclist was driving southbound on Battlefield while an SUV was driving northbound. The SUV attempted to make a left turn onto Johnstown Road from Battlefield Boulevard, and the vehicles collided.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries that aren’t believed to be life-threatening at this time.
The CPD’s Crash Investigation Team is on scene conducting the investigation, and traffic at the intersection is blocked for now.
