NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) on Monday announced there will be an increase in transit security and awareness. In an effort to ensure safety while commuters return to work after the holidays, HRT is adding enhanced security on all transits, including The Tide light rail and its 11 stations in Norfolk, according to a press release from Communications Manager Thomas Becher.
